Tayloe Two-Drawer Hi-Gloss Mahogany Jewelry Chest
The Tayloe Jewelry Chest takes its inspiration from a chest of drawers made by an unknown rural cabinetmaker in eastern Massachusetts or Southern New Hampshire in the 1800s, now in the Colonial Williamsburg collections. This version is expertly crafted in rosewood veneer with a mahogany stain, and inlaid with a tiger maple veneer border - buffed to a high-gloss piano finish. The interior features an elegant cream faux suede lining, accented with handsome wood partitions, and the inside lid reveals a full mirror. The well is fitted with ring bars, earring compartments and two spacious areas divided by a movable partition. Its two deep drawers are partitioned to hold larger pieces. Brass-finished drawer pulls and quadrant hinges finish the exquisite piece.
